Prof Regan was conferred the Honorary Doctorate of Science by the University College London, Honorary Fellowship of the American, Sri Lankan & Indian Colleges of O & G and Honorary Membership of British Fertility Society. She is an Elected international member to the US National Academy of Medicine & an Invited member to their Committee Human Rights.
Professor Regan chaired the FIGO Women’s Health & Human Rights Committee from 2009-15 & was the Vice President for Strategic Development, RCOG, 2014-16. In 2016, She was Elected as the 30th President of the RCOG and the first woman to be elected to this role in 64 years. In 2018, she was elected Secretary General of FIGO.
A job close to her heart is being the Director of the RCOG Leading Safe Choices programme, an Anonymous US donor funded initiative to improve and promote family planning in Tanzania and South Africa.
Prof Regan’s primary research interests include Miscarriage and Fibroids. The recurrent miscarriage clinic at St Mary’s is the largest tertiary referral service in the world. Her collaborative clinical research with interventional radiologists led to the development of minimally invasive thermoablation techniques for treatment of uterine fibroids, now popularly known as HIFU.
Professor Regan is a popular invited speaker nationally and internationally and has delivered 32 keynote plenary and eponymous lectures. She has to her credit 153 original research papers, 6 peer reviewed guidelines, 4 systematic reviews, 30 invited reviews, 48 chapters in books and has been on the editorial team of several journals and publications.

Prof Arulkumaran has authored 300 indexed publications. He has been the author or editor of 38 books & more than 150 book chapters. He is the Editor-in-Chief of the ‘Best Practise and Research in Clinical Obstetrics and Gynaecology’. He is also the Emeritus Editor of the Global Library of Women’s Medicine www.glowm.com.
Prof Arulkumaran has been the President of the RCOG, London between 2007-2010; President of the British Medical Association between 2013-14 and President FIGO 2012-2015.
Prof Arulkumaran has been honoured with Doctorate of Science of several Universities and Honorary Fellow of many Post Graduate O&G Colleges and Societies including Honorary Member, National Academy of Sciences, USA. He was conferred Knight Bachelor in recognition of his services to Medicine & Health Services by Her Majesty the Queen - Birthday Honours List – June 2009

He is the co-director of a tertiary referral urogynaecology Unit at Croydon University Hospital with subspecialty training and has an active research programme. He has over 200 publications in journals and textbook chapters. He has co-produced the first comprehensive textbook on perineal and anal sphincter trauma and is the co director of the popular Perineal Trauma and Pelvic Floor Ultrasound courses.
He was awarded the prestigious overall “UK Hospital Doctor of the Year” award and is the past President of the Section of Obstetrics and Gynaecology of the Royal Society of Medicine.

She has had a meritorious academic and clinical career spanning 34 years. Her areas of special interest comprise Management of High Risk Pregnancy, Adolescent & Menopausal problems, Infertility & related Endoscopy, Non descent vaginal hysterectomy in bulky uteri and pelvic floor repair. She has been invited for over 1000 guest lectures & 35 orations in India & abroad. She has over 110 publications and has edited five books. She has received several awards including the SIDA Fellowship, FOGSI awards, prestigious Maharashtra State medical council award in 2016 & FIGO women’s award in 2018 at Brazil.
She has served Mumbai Society of OBGYN & Federation of Obstetric & Gynaecological Societies of India (FOGSI) in various capacities and was the President of both the organisations. She was the secretary of the “FOGSI Kishori Adolescent empowerment Project”, a multi collaborative project for the underprivileged girls from Dharavi, Mumbai for 8 years.
